Mad Honey harvesting tour in Lamjung is Moderate Plus, which means you should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness. Here are a few health factors you should check before signing up for the honey hunting expedition:
Moderate Elevation Change
When climbing the cliffs of Lamjung, ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 meters, it’s important to prepare for the change in elevation. The ascent can be challenging on your knees, and your body may take time to adjust to the higher altitude.
Carry a Backpack
You’ll need to carry a backpack weighing 20 to 30 pounds, packed with essential gear for a comfortable trip. Please, be prepared to carry this load while trekking, as the weight will be with you throughout the journey. The weather can change, with cooler temperatures at higher elevations, so pack layers. Also, pack light, bring only essentials, and maintain a steady pace to balance the load and stay comfortable during the climb.

You’ll need a certain level of physical fitness, as the honey hunting day involves walking 3-4 miles (2 to 3 hours) through steep cliffs. It requires a good amount of endurance and stamina for this hunting expedition.

Day 1
Land to Kathmandu

Day 2
Kathmandu to Besisahar
Accommodation: One-night stay in a 3 Star Hotel
After breakfast, we go on to the captivating panorama of Besisahar, Lamjung.
As the dawn greets you with its golden rays, we start our beautiful landscapes of a small idyllic village. Our trusty van will be ready to take you on this scenic adventure.
You will witness a great deal of scenic beauty that greets you on its way. Along the way, you will delight in observing the majesty of rolling rivers and snow-capped mountains painting the horizon.
In the afternoon, we will serve a delicious lunch from a selection of menu options. After reaching the serene haven of Besisahar, surrounded by nature’s loving arms, we'll treat you to tasty snacks and a satisfying dinner.
Day 3
Besisahar to Honey Hunting Village
Accommodation: One-night stay in a community homestay
The day begins with a delectable breakfast served in the hotel, filling us with energy for the exciting adventures ahead. We get ready for the place closest to the thrill and excitement, eagerly anticipating the experiences that await us.
Later, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a community homestay, savoring local flavors and immersing ourselves in the region’s food culture. As we explore, we’ll have the unique chance to observe the locals’ preparations and their lively gatherings in anticipation of tomorrow’s event.
Day 4
Night Stay at a hotel in Besisahar
Accommodation: Night Stay at a hotel in Besisahar
A hearty breakfast will be served at the homestay, offering a limited but satisfying selection of food options. After a short briefing about the upcoming trials and challenges we may encounter, our team ensures that we have the right gear and prioritizes our safety throughout the journey.
As the sun rises, we go on our adventure to the mad honey hunting site, which is a pleasant half-hour to 45-minute walk from the homestay. Along the way, we are treated to the sight of cascading waterfalls and breathtaking mountain ranges, enhancing the scenic beauty of our trek.
Upon reaching the site, we witness the thrilling process of honey hunting, which lasts for around 4 to 5 hours. You’ll even have the chance to taste the fresh mad honey directly from the hive while enjoying snacks provided during the wait.
Once we have experienced this unique activity, we make our way back to the community homestay for a well-deserved lunch. Later in the day, we return to Besisahar, where we spend the night in a comfortable hotel. For dinner, we conveniently dine in the same hotel for a pleasant end to a fulfilling day of adventure.
After a rewarding day of honey hunting, we say our farewells to this unforgettable expedition.
Day 5
Besisahar to Kathmandu
Accommodation: One-night stay at 3-Star Hotel
The next day, after enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will begin our journey back to Kathmandu. Along the way, we will stop for a satisfying lunch, either in Muglin or at a convenient spot on the route. Once we reach our destination, we will ensure a smooth drop-off at your hotel. To round off your trip with comfort, we will take care of your last meal, ensuring you have a satisfying dining experience. We will handle all arrangements for your hotel accommodation.

In the western region of Lamjung, Nepal, the weather is influenced by varying elevation, slope, and exposure, resulting in rapidly changing conditions. Summer afternoons often bring rain and wind, making it crucial to be prepared for sudden temperature drops of 20 to 30°C and unexpected rainstorms.
In the alpine areas of Lamjung, there is a notable contrast between daytime and nighttime temperatures. While daytime temperatures typically range from 25 to 30°C, evenings can see a drop to the 20s or low 25s, requiring layers for comfort.
